INSTRUCTION for MIDDLE SCHOOL

As the development of technology, almost all people in this globe at least have one gadget. This people including middle school students. According to Wikipedia.com, middle school is a school for students older than elementary school, but not yet in high school. The ages covered varies between, and sometimes within, countries.

These middle school students should be directed to use their gadget wisely. This is the job for both parents and teachers. For teachers, they should utilize this development of technology by providing sufficient resources of materials for middle school students. These materials can be in the form of PDF, video, presentation, and etc. For example, teachers may give sites that provide useful material that has been carefully selected for students. The material should be appropriate for students, either its language, content, or difficulty level. Therefore, students may have more chance to explore numerous resources from all around the globe. This way may give them better understanding of a material. Another way to utilize technology is by using certain applications to customize a power point presentation so that it is more interesting without detracting from its core. Another example is by using applications that can connect students and teachers easily. Thus, teachers can upload materials, assignments or even test easily, while, students can download them and even give comments for the assignments or test given. For parents, they should monitor what their children browse on the internet. It is important because parents need to know what their children discover from internet and guide them to the right way in understanding something. Moreover, this can prevent children to browse something that is not appropriate for them. Parents should pay extra attention to this, since middle school students tend to have higher curiosity level about anything.  

However, all of these benefits of internet can not be maximized if teachers have low knowledge and skill about internet and technology. Therefore, the first thing to do before engaging technology for middle school students is familiarize teachers with technology and train them to use technology for their classrooms.
